FURNITURE LEGAL TIMBER PURCHASING POLICY AT SNOOZE

Snooze recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment, customers, suppliers and staff to base its commercial activities on legally harvested forests.

We are committed to taking all reasonable measures to ensure that we purchase our timber from legal harvested sources and will seek evidence of compliance, where needed, from suppliers by operating a due diligence system.

We are committed to complying with the Australian Illegal Logging Prohibition Act 2012 and, where applicable, the Illegal Logging Prohibition Regulation (the Timber Legislation).

In accordance with the Timber Legislation, our suppliers will be required to provide data and documentation regarding the timber materials used in their products, at each step of the wood transformation and product manufacturing.

If a supplier cannot provide documentation, and the source of the timber material remains unknown, we are committed to replacing the timber material, replacing the supplier or shall cease purchasing the product.

The scope of this policy concerns all furniture and homewares products manufactured from timber, for all suppliers to Snooze.

Our aim is to build long term relationships with suppliers who share a common commitment to sustainable management and supply of timber and to minimise the environmental impacts of their operations.

We will ensure that all employees associated with timber purchasing are aware of the Policy commitments, and are given appropriate education and training to allow its full implementation.
