Care Instructions and Conditions
Snooze has designed these care instructions to be used as a guide to enable years of satisfaction from your bedding and furniture.
Sunlight
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight must be avoided as it can cause excessive fading to fabric, leather and timber finishes. It can also cause excessive drying, splitting and warping of timber products.
Woven Upholstery Fabrics
Should a thread become loose from fabric, cut it off. Under no circumstances should it be pulled. The general cleaning of upholstery fabrics is often difficult and best left to specialists. Refer to the care label for cleaning instructions. Dirt and dust will increase fabric wear and dull colours, this is best removed using the appropriate vacuum cleaner fabric attachment. Never use harsh brushing and be careful to avoid sharp objects to prevent snagging of threads (eg. Toys, rings, shoe buckles, belts, heels). Do not allow pets to climb on furniture.
Care of Bedding
Snooze recommends that every mattress be fitted with the correct size mattress protector to avoid soiling. Materials used in mattresses are designed to conform to your body’s individual shape. Body indentations are a normal occurrence and indicate that the upholstery layers are performing as they should. Regular turning and rotating provides uniform wear to each side of the mattress and adjusts the sleeping surface evenly to prolong mattress life. It is the purchasers responsibility to turn the mattress in the manner specified by the manufacturers warranty. Handles, (if fitted) should be used only to position the mattress, not to lift or carry.
Care of Timber Furniture
To keep your timber furniture in good condition follow these instructions: wipe with a clean damp cloth to remove surface dust. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth in the direction of the grain, never in a circular motion. Always protect timber from hot surfaces with placemats. Spillages, especially alcohol, must be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth. Do not expose timber to direct sunlight or extremes of humidity. Do not conceal the tops of your furniture with glass covers. This can result in sweating of timber and peeling of stain may occur. Do not use general household cleaning products that contain silicones. Do no allow hot or cold abrasive items to come into contact with surfaces. Do not allow liquid or damp cloths to remain in contact with timber surfaces.
Lacquered Timber or Custom Wood Finishes
Snooze recommends the use of heat protective covers (placemats) on surfaces subject to normal eating and drinking habits to prevent heat or stain marks occurring. Avoid spilling alcohol or solvents (i.e. nail polish remover). Liquid spills should be immediately wiped up to avoid surface damage. Avoid scratching or knocking. To clean, dust or wipe over with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Note: Polishes and waxes containing silicone must be avoided as this may be unable to be repaired.
Melamine, Vinyl and Foil Finishes
Dust or wipe with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Liquid spills should be immediately wiped up to avoid penetration of joints. Avoid scratching and knocking.
Glass
Use appropriate specialist glass cleaner and avoid scratching or knocking particularly with jewelry. Mirrored or glass doors should be adjusted very carefully, take care not to over tighten fittings as this may cause glass to crack.
