Snooze has announced a three-year community partnership with (MCRI) to support the Institute’s research into child health.

Snooze, Australia’s premier bedding and sleep specialist, has announced a three-year community partnership with Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) to support the Institute’s research into child health.

Snooze managing director Simon Beaty says the partnership is a reflection of a shared goal for both parties – the improved health and wellbeing of Australians.

“Snooze is delighted to form this significant and long-term partnership with MCRI. We are pleased to be aligned with an organisation that is committed to making the lives of children happier and healthier, regardless of where they live,” Mr Beaty said.

“On a store level, our franchisees are excited by the partnership as it’s another way to connect with their communities. Individual stores will be doing their bit locally to help raise funds, boosting Snooze’s commitment and further supporting MCRI,” he said.

“With Snooze continually focusing on the health and wellbeing aspects of sleep, we are delighted to be in a position to share sleep-related information and research from MCRI with our customers through our website, advertising and point-of-sale,” he said.

Snooze has set an initial target of raising $450,000 for the MCRI over the next three years, via the sale of Simplee Kidz and Osteo Youth Support beds.

Store franchisees will also be involved in local fundraising campaigns and some of Snooze’s advertising, including its website, will carry the MCRI logo to help further promote the cause.

Snooze will draw on relevant MCRI research to further its knowledge in the area of sleep, cementing its position as the sleep expert.

Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, based in Melbourne, is Australia’s largest child health research institute, with more than 1100 researchers investigating ways to improve children’s quality of life.

MCRI Director, Professor Terry Dwyer AO MD MPH, said he was delighted to see Snooze place high value in the health and wellbeing of children.

“Having Snooze on board as a community partner is logical as we share the common goal of increasing the quality of Australian’s health and wellbeing,” Professor Dwyer said.

“As an independent non-profit organisation we rely on support from Government, corporate and private donors and really welcome the involvement of the business community in the important work of MCRI,” he said.

MCRI was established by Patron Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC DBE and others in 1986 and since this time has gone on to make some ground-breaking discoveries of international significance.

MCRI’s researchers are working to discover ways for children to live happier, healthier lives. Their world-class research covers a number of childhood illness and disease categories including allergies, asthma, cancer, diabetes, premature birth, obesity, genetic disease and mental health.
